The channel partner API is how UltraCart takes orders from channels it has no ready-made connector for. Set up a Custom Channel Partner, give it an API key, and your marketplace, call center, order-entry tool, or in-house system can submit orders that land in UltraCart beside your StoreFront sales.
It is built into every UltraCart account and is the same engine that powers the named channel partner integrations. Call centers and distribution websites lean on it heavily, because it lets them place orders on a merchant's behalf without screen-scraping a checkout or keying orders in by hand.
Without it, every new sales channel means a second order system, manual re-entry, and inventory that drifts out of sync. With the channel partner API, each channel posts its orders straight into UltraCart, where they use your existing inventory and distribution centers and show up in your reporting, tagged with a short code that shows where each order came from.
Developers can submit orders through the REST API with official SDKs in seven languages, and teams without a developer can use the HTTPS POST method or a spreadsheet import. Each channel partner gets its own API key with request logging, and card payments are handled safely through UltraCart hosted fields so raw card numbers never pass through the API.

Create an API key with Channel Partner permissions under Configuration, Development, then go to Configuration, Custom Channel Partners, click New, fill in the code and name, and select that key.

Can I send credit card payments through the API?
Yes, but not as raw card numbers. Tokenize the card with UltraCart hosted fields first, then include the token with the order.
