Send orders to Shipedge for fulfillment and sync warehouse inventory back into your UltraCart items automatically.

The Shipedge fulfillment integration runs in both directions. Orders transmit out to Shipedge for picking and shipping, tracking comes back on each shipment, and inventory levels sync from Shipedge into your UltraCart items, so what the storefront advertises matches what is actually on the shelf.

Shipedge is an omnichannel platform built from three parts: an order management system, a warehouse management system, and an embedded shipping engine. It carries more than 75 channel integrations and 50 shipping carriers, alongside an open API and a rules engine for workflows that do not fit a template. Its customers range from single-warehouse ecommerce brands to third-party logistics providers and large enterprises, including Nestlé's Bountiful Company brands, which run legacy A-Frame and pick-to-light equipment on Shipedge's cloud WMS.

Overselling is what happens when your storefront and your warehouse disagree about stock. The usual remedy is a nightly export that is already wrong by breakfast. Shipedge closes that loop instead, pushing counts into the matching UltraCart items as they change on the warehouse floor. Orders travel the opposite way across the same connection, where each one gets picked, packed, cartonized, and rate-shopped against Shipedge's carrier list before a label prints.

Connecting it means pasting four values from your Shipedge OMS preferences screen: an API key, an account ID, the warehouse you fulfill from, and a store ID that Shipedge suggests generating by creating an API integration under Channel Automation. Naming the warehouse explicitly is what lets one UltraCart account address several Shipedge facilities as separate distribution centers. When something goes wrong, UltraCart keeps a full transmission log under Operations, Reporting, Logs, where you filter to distribution center traffic and open the raw request and response JSON for any single order rather than guessing at what Shipedge received.

  • Two-Way Inventory Sync: Stock counts flow from Shipedge into the matching UltraCart items, which keeps your storefront honest about availability without a scheduled export.
  • Request and Response Logging: Every transmission is recorded with its raw JSON on both sides, so a rejected order can be diagnosed from the log instead of a support ticket.
  • Bulk Label Printing: Mapping your checkout options to Shipedge codes clears the unmapped state that otherwise blocks batch label generation on the warehouse side.
  • Multi-Warehouse Routing: The warehouse is part of the credential set, so each Shipedge facility becomes its own distribution center that you route to by location preference.
  • Carrier Rate Shopping: Once an order lands, Shipedge cartonizes it and compares live pricing across its carrier network before committing to a label.

ShipEdge FAQ.

Does Shipedge send inventory levels back to UltraCart?

Yes. This integration syncs inventory from Shipedge into your UltraCart items, so the stock counts on your storefront follow what the warehouse actually holds. Orders and tracking numbers travel the opposite way across the same connection.

Where do I find my Shipedge API key and store ID?

Inside the Shipedge OMS, open the account option in the top menu bar and go to preferences. Shipedge suggests creating an API integration in the Channel Automation section, which produces the store ID. Shipedge Support can verify your account if any value is missing.

Do I have to map my shipping methods?

Yes. Without a mapping, Shipedge marks your orders as unmapped and bulk label printing is unavailable. If your Shipedge store is set to automatic fulfillment, unmapped methods cause errors or outright order rejection. Enter the code on the Other tab of each UltraCart shipping method exactly as Shipedge spells it.

How can I see what UltraCart actually sent to Shipedge?

Open Main Menu, then Operations, Reporting, and Logs, and filter the type to Distribution Center. Each entry opens to reveal the raw request and response JSON for that transmission, which is usually enough to identify a rejected order without opening a support ticket.

Are my SKUs matched automatically?

Usually. Shipedge SKUs that match your UltraCart Item IDs pair on their own, including when the Shipedge value is the uppercased form. You only enter a Shipedge SKU against an item when the two values genuinely differ.

We fulfill from more than one Shipedge facility. Does that work?

Yes. The warehouse is part of the credential set, so each Shipedge facility is configured as a separate UltraCart distribution center with its own API key, account ID, and store ID. Location preferences then decide which facility receives a given order.
