The UltraCart platform updates for September 2026 focus on subscription recovery, AI agents, and the integrations that move your orders. When a customer updates a card in My Account, that card now reaches the auto order and every rebill waiting in Accounts Receivable, and eligible orders are charged in the background. AI agents gained per-agent capabilities, access to your custom data collections, and a test chat that runs against live data before you deploy. Faire and NetSuite each picked up a long list of new options, and a new TQL integration brings LTL freight rating to your shipping methods.
Integrations Updated in September 2026
Faire and NetSuite led a busy month for connectors. Fulfillment, marketing, accounting, and tax integrations also carry more of your data through and report more clearly when something needs attention.
Faire
- Import options: You can now import only unfulfilled orders (useful if you accept orders in the Faire portal), import only orders due to ship within a set number of days, strip the ship on date, and always mark the ship to address as commercial. Imported Faire orders always come in as purchase orders.
- Order details: Imported orders now carry the UTM source and campaign, the Faire order number, ship via instructions, free text comments, and order tags you configure, so the order in UltraCart has the full context from Faire.
- Customer details: The ship to company name carries onto imported orders, and the customer's own name is used when Faire sends the company as the address name. A configurable order email address replaces the placeholder, with optional association to a customer profile.
- Bill To override: A new Bill To Override section bills every Faire order to one fixed party, and the Bill To country is now a dropdown.
- Commission: A new option writes the commission Faire charged into the order comments, so the fee is visible right on the order.
- Shipping: A Shipping Method setting is applied to every imported order, with a Shipping Cost choice of free or calculated.
- Inventory: Inventory can be sent to Faire for mapped items, with an exclusion list for anything you want to manage separately.
- Tracking: A new option stops UltraCart from sending tracking to Faire, for setups where your fulfillment partner reports its own.
- Item mapping: Exact Faire SKU to item ID matches are now suggested ahead of fuzzy guesses, and an Accept SKU Matches Only button approves just the exact matches. Typed item IDs are saved, and the item editor's Other tab shows Faire mappings without deleting mappings for partners it does not display.
- Settings screen: The settings are reorganized into grouped rows, the API key is masked to its last four characters, and saving returns you to the settings screen. See the Faire integration docs.
NetSuite
- Connection: The NetSuite integration now talks to the NetSuite REST API directly and includes a Test Connection button. Credentials are redacted from logged payloads, and configuration and queue errors are written to the integration log.
- Order import options: New options let you use a shared customer, send the order ID as the PO number, maintain the customer address book, choose the order status (Pending Approval or Pending Fulfillment), and copy the billing address to shipping. The created sales order and how each item was matched are attached to the integration log.
- Item matching: The item type is now sent on each sales order line, which fixes orders rejected with "Invalid Field Value." Subitems resolve by their full name, and a SKU that matches more than one NetSuite item fails the order and names the candidates, so you know exactly what to fix. See the NetSuite integration docs.
Fulfillment Integrations
- ShipStation StoreFront routing: You can route StoreFronts to specific ShipStation stores, which keeps multi-brand fulfillment organized inside ShipStation.
- ShipStation refunds: An order can optionally be cancelled in ShipStation when it is fully refunded, configured per distribution center.
- ShipStation Combine Orders: Orders absorbed by ShipStation's Combine Orders now receive the surviving order's tracking instead of sitting unshipped. See the ShipStation integration docs.
- ShipMonk merged orders: When ShipMonk merges same day orders from one customer, the merged order's tracking is applied to each original UltraCart order, so every order shows as shipped with the right tracking number. See the ShipMonk integration guide.
Iterable
- Initial purchase events: A new Send Initial Purchase Events setting adds a
uc_initial_purchaseevent that only initial orders produce. Your campaign conversions can exclude auto order rebills, while revenue still comes from the standard purchase events. - Viewed page events: Viewed page events now carry the SKUs, names, and item details in context at that page view, which gives your browse-based campaigns more to work with. See the Iterable events reference.
QuickBooks Online
- Purchase order numbers: PO numbers can be written to the invoice's private note or message on invoice. The PO custom field is found under common labels such as "PO Number," "PO #," and "Customer PO," disabled custom field slots are respected, and the integration log records which custom fields were found. See the QuickBooks Online docs.
Tax
- Anrok: The connection test now lists the products configured on your Anrok account, so you can confirm the setup at a glance. See the Anrok setup docs.
- TaxJar: The Forbidden notice email is sent only after 7 consecutive failures, and each failed cart estimate writes an integration log entry, so a single blip no longer triggers an alert. See the TaxJar setup docs.
StoreFronts
Experiments now stop cleanly when they end, blog posts keep the HTML you write, and the Visual Builder gained a Checkout Savings element along with sharper gallery images and a long list of element fixes.
Visual Builder: Checkout
- Checkout Savings: A new element shows the shopper how much they are saving. It is red by default, falls back to the item price when a SKU has no MSRP, and can show zero savings when Hide When No Savings is turned off.
- Carrier selector: Every shipping method stays reachable after a carrier is clicked, including table rate methods and free realtime rates.
- Order condition: A new "earned store credit" condition lets you show content to customers who earned store credit on the order.
- Checkout Agree Terms: The error list text is now customizable and translatable.
- Related items list: The Slider display works on the live StoreFront, and the hide when empty check uses the list's own filters.
- Saved addresses: The address book refreshes when the customer logs in or out.
Visual Builder: Item Image Galleries
- Lightbox and modal quality: New Lightbox Quality and Modal Quality settings (Optimized, High, Original) give shoppers a sharper enlarged image.
- Video posters: MP4 videos in the v2 gallery, the video element, and theme folders get a generated poster frame and are served from the Enhanced CDN.
- Primary image: The v2 gallery stays on the primary image when a variant is auto-selected on page load.
Visual Builder: Blog Elements
- Blog post: A new BlogPosting structured data setting helps search engines understand your posts, and Open Graph image dimensions are omitted when unknown instead of rendering empty.
- Blog post list: A new Skip Newest setting supports featured post layouts, Exclude Current Post keeps a related posts strip from listing the post being read, and pagination follows the list being browsed.
Visual Builder: Styling
- Background images: A new Contain - No Crop option shows the whole image uncropped.
- Button: The disabled background color now applies to buttons with a background gradient.
- Facet accordions: The active text, active background, and border colors now apply under both Foundation 5 and Foundation 6 themes.
- Item attribute: Definition list accordions gain Allow All Closed and Multi-Expand settings.
Visual Builder: Editor
- Save errors: A rejected container save now shows an error saying the changes were not saved, instead of leaving "Saving Containers..." on screen.
- Accordions: Editing inside an accordion item no longer leaves the new content unclickable or hidden until a reload.
Visual Builder: Element Fixes
- Redirect: Show On is respected, so a redirect limited to some devices no longer fires on every device.
- Video: Autoplaying MP4 videos start muted so browsers allow them to play.
- Affiliate image: Alt text, lazy load, aspect ratio, and PNG transparency settings now apply on the live page.
- Item list filtering: The loading blocker appears as soon as a filter changes.
- Search did you mean: Clicking the suggestion updates the search box.
- Side panels: Opening a side panel closes any other open one.
- Store locator: The tag filter row reappears after a search returns tags.
- Copyright: When both years are the current year, one year is shown.
Experiments
- Ended experiments: An ended experiment stops splitting traffic. Every visitor sees the winner, or the original when there is no winner, including returning visitors who were assigned to another variation.
- Faster changes: Ending, pausing, or declaring a winner takes effect promptly instead of up to 24 hours later.
- Objective reporting: The Events and SMS Opt Ins objectives now report the average objective per session. See the Experiments docs.
Blog
- Post editor: The blog post editor no longer rewrites article HTML when a post is opened, so divs, style blocks, and plain spans survive a save. Posts that were already altered are not repaired automatically.
- Post visibility: Blog post pages honor visibility settings. Drafts, members only posts viewed without a signed in customer, and scheduled posts before their publication date return a 404. See the blog docs.
Cart
- Currency auto-detect: With currency auto-detect enabled, new carts get the visitor's geolocated display currency wherever the cart is created, not only through the cart editor. See the multi-currency docs.
Search
- Legacy StoreFront search: StoreFronts without search settings now honor the visitor's sort choice.
- Wildcard highlighting: Under wildcard search modes, each matched word in a page excerpt is highlighted on its own.
Order Management
Card updates from your customers now go further, which means more subscription revenue recovered without anyone on your team stepping in.
- Auto order card updates in My Account: When a customer edits or adds a card in My Account, the card is now applied to the auto order, every rebill parked in Accounts Receivable, and any standalone Accounts Receivable order for that customer. Eligible orders are charged in the background with the same protections as the hosted update billing page, and the auto order is reactivated. Orders older than 45 days receive the card but are never charged automatically. See the My Account docs.
- Manage Auto Orders (Remove Items) permission: A new permission controls who on your team can remove recurring items on the auto order edit screen.
- Refund order: The refund screen no longer shows an incorrect message about lacking permission to cancel the auto order.
Item Management
- Batch Item Export and Import: Item level checkout Terms are now included in batch exports and imports.
- Variations: Variation edits now show on the StoreFront immediately, without re-saving the item.
Communications & Marketing
StoreFront Communications flows gained control over who can re-enter them, new triggers tied to customer subscription changes, and clearer feedback when you submit emails for review.
- Flow re-entry policy: Each flow can now let a customer re-enter anytime, only after a number of days, or never. That last option is ideal for a winback flow that hands out a one time coupon. See the flows docs.
- Auto order flow triggers: New triggers fire when a customer skips, reschedules (including Ship Now), or changes the frequency of an auto order in My Account, so you can follow up on each change automatically.
- Review progress: After you submit emails for review, a progress dialog shows each email's outcome as it is decided, with the reason and an edit link for anything that needs changes.
- Scheduled campaigns: The campaign list shows when a scheduled campaign will send, with the relative time and cadence.
- Deep links: Opening a flow or campaign updates the browser URL, so a refresh or bookmark returns you to it.
- Email subscribe: Subscribe forms accept an address with surrounding spaces and split first and last names cleanly.
CRM
AI agents took a big step forward this month, with per-agent controls, access to your own data, and a test chat that lets you try an agent before customers ever see it. Calls, SMS, voicemail, and the Zoho Desk integration also picked up a round of fixes.
AI Agents
- Test chat: From the AI agent page, you can now converse with a specific agent as a chosen customer, StoreFront, and queue, without deploying the webchat widget. The session runs against live data, shows the agent's tool calls live in an activity pane, can be ended and re-run after a prompt change, and tells you when the session has ended.
- Per-agent capabilities: The toggles on each agent's Agent Capabilities screen now take effect on the running agent. Switching off StoreFront and item access, for example, removes that agent's item search. Agents that were never configured individually keep your account-wide settings. See the AI agent capabilities docs.
- Custom data collections: You can grant an agent access to your custom data collections from its Agent Capabilities screen and choose exactly which collections it may search. Collections not enabled for AI are listed with the reason, and a collection whose last build failed is flagged.
- Collection AI settings: Custom collections gain an AI Enabled switch, a description, search guidance, result guidance, and a result field allowlist, so nothing outside the allowlist reaches the agent. Collections that include an
embed_sourcecolumn get hybrid vector search. - Product photos and purchase history: Agents can look at product photos when a question turns on appearance, and can check which items an authenticated customer has already purchased (this requires order lookup access).
- Search failures: A failed search is reported to the agent as an error, so the agent no longer tells a customer the store does not carry something when the search itself failed. See the AI agents docs.
Calls (PBX)
- Call in progress: Opening another CRM tab during a call no longer drops the call.
- Recordings: Call History recordings download as a WAV file instead of opening in the browser's media player.
- AI coach: Stopping the AI coach keeps it stopped, even if a late coaching whisper arrives.
- Customer profile link: The customer profile link in the call snapshot opens in a new tab, so the call controls and notes stay on screen. See the Calls docs.
SMS
- Read status: Opening an SMS conversation marks it read and clears the red waiting indicator for everyone, so threads such as STOP opt outs no longer flash indefinitely. Mark Conversation as Read is also available in the composer footer. Webchat still escalates until a reply is sent.
- From number: A From number is now required to start a new conversation, and the selected number is the one used, so every message in the thread can send.
- New conversations: After starting a new conversation, you land in it directly, without a "New chat assigned" toast for the conversation you just created.
- Permissions: The From number dropdown works for agents with chat permission but no phone permission.
- Full history: The SMS list scrolls back through your full history instead of stopping at the newest 30 threads. See the SMS conversations docs.
Conversations
- Customer Left alerts: Agents who are not part of a conversation no longer receive a Customer Left toast and chime when that customer closes the webchat widget.
- Links: Links in message bodies open in a new tab instead of navigating the CRM away.
Voicemail
- Shared voicemails: Shared (queue) voicemails can now be played and deleted.
- Playback: Playing a voicemail clears its NEW badge, and closing the play dialog stops playback. See the voicemail docs.
POS & Order Entry
- Tablet support: POS and Order Entry now work well on tablets. The header is compact in landscape, cart line items switch to cards on narrower screens instead of running off the edge, and the quantity steppers have larger touch targets. See the Point of Sale docs.
Workforce
- Daily Summary dates: The Daily Summary To date is no longer stuck on today, and "today" follows the Workforce timezone on Daily Summary, Timeline, and Dashboard, so evening visits no longer default to tomorrow's empty report. See the Daily Summary docs.
Zoho Desk
- Click to call: Click to call from the Zoho panel dials in one click and reports the outcome (for example, already on a call) instead of only filling in the dial pad.
- Softphone: The Zoho softphone switches to the call screen after answering.
- Ticket classification: Tickets skipped before classification now leave an integration log entry naming the reason, and transient empty responses from Zoho are retried, so no ticket goes unclassified without a trace. See the Zoho Desk docs.
Backend UI
- Documentation search: The admin documentation search no longer fails with an error when a result title contains certain Unicode characters.
Reporting & Analytics
Smart Attribution
- Archived sessions: Sessions archived to storage are now included when building an order's journey, so an anonymous ad click is credited as the originator and the journey stops at a prior order as intended. See the attribution analysis docs.
Shipping & Fulfillment
- TQL LTL rating: A new TQL integration adds LTL freight rating with your own TQL credentials. It offers a single "TQL: LTL" shipping method priced at the cheapest carrier, so freight orders get a real rate at checkout. See the TQL setup docs.
REST API & Webhooks
Developer-facing changes this month support the new flow re-entry and auto order trigger features, plus a safeguard for bulk jobs.
Bulk Import (Alpha)
- Webhook backpressure: Bulk jobs pause while your webhooks are backlogged and resume once they catch up, with paused and resumed entries in the integration log. See the Bulk API reference.
Item
- Sale pricing validation:
sale_costnow requiressale_startandsale_end. Both must parse as ISO 8601, and the end must be after the start.
My Account
- Flow triggers: The auto order skip, reschedule, and frequency change methods accept
fireFlowTriggerto fire the matching StoreFront Communications flow triggers.
StoreFront Communications
- Flow re-entry fields: Flow objects gain
reentry_policyandreentry_delay_days. - Email review status: New
getEmailReviewStatusandgetEmailReviewStatusesMultiplemethods report the review state of emails submitted for review.
September's UltraCart platform updates share a theme: fewer things that need a person to step in. Customer card updates recover waiting rebills on their own, AI agents can be tested before they go live, experiments stop when you end them, and Faire and NetSuite orders arrive with the details your team needs. View all platform updates to see what shipped in previous months.
