TaxCloud

The TaxCloud integration puts TaxCloud in charge of sales tax at your UltraCart checkout. UltraCart asks TaxCloud for the tax on each cart as the customer checks out, then reports each finished order, so your TaxCloud account holds the records it needs to file returns for you.

TaxCloud is sales tax software that calculates, collects, and files sales tax for growing businesses. It calculates rates across 13,000 jurisdictions with automatic rate updates, and more than 2,000 companies use it to keep their sales tax current.

Handling sales tax yourself means keeping rate tables current, deciding which products are taxable in which states, and rebuilding a report from your orders every time a return is due. With TaxCloud connected, the rate comes from TaxCloud on every cart, each completed order is reported automatically, and refunds flow back as item quantities so TaxCloud recalculates what you owe.

Taxability is set where your products live. Search TaxCloud's Taxability Information Codes on the item's Tax tab in UltraCart, set a default code for everything else, and choose whether shipping is sent as a taxable charge. TICs can also be loaded in bulk through the item import, and an estimate-only mode lets you check tax at checkout before any orders are reported.
