The UltraCart platform updates for July 2026 center on knowing where your revenue comes from and reaching customers wherever they are. The headline is Smart Attribution, a new attribution engine that groups a customer's touchpoints into per-order journeys for more accurate multi-touch attribution. Documentation also moved to a rebuilt docs.ultracart.com. Alongside those, StoreFront Communications now records a dispatch log for every email you send, four new server-side conversion integrations arrived, and the CRM gained an embeddable SMS chat widget plus a redesigned call record.

Documentation

All UltraCart documentation has been migrated to a rebuilt docs.ultracart.com with a more intuitive structure and better search, so finding an answer takes fewer clicks. Content is now split into three sections based on what you are trying to do.

  • Platform documentation: docs.ultracart.com is the primary home for merchant and platform documentation, covering the day-to-day work of running your store.
  • Developer documentation: docs.ultracart.com/developer holds developer-focused material in its own section, so technical content is easier to search without wading through merchant guides.
  • API and webhooks: docs.ultracart.com/api is the dedicated reference for the REST API and webhooks.

We will follow up with a dedicated post walking through the improvements in more detail.

Integrations

July brought a fulfillment API upgrade, several ShipStation refinements that carry more order context downstream, and fixes to how marketing and payment connections handle data.

  • ShipBob: The integration moved from version 2.0 to the 2026-01 API, covering channel and inventory endpoint responses along with pagination. Your channel and inventory data now flows over ShipBob's current API.
  • ShipStation: Four improvements to how order context reaches your shipping station. You can apply a tag when a configured item id is on the order, special instructions are copied to internal notes, kit components are annotated with their parent kit so packers know what belongs together, and create-order requests are encoded as UTF-8 so multibyte address and customs values are accepted.
  • Iterable: The fulfilled event key was corrected so it no longer collides with other events. A new flag sends subscription events for physical items only, and subscription user data fields were added to the updateCart event at both the user and item level.
  • PayPal: Non-ASCII characters in addresses returned by PayPal are no longer corrupted when copied onto the cart, so international names and street addresses come through intact.

StoreFronts

The Visual Builder gained birth date elements, richer checkout custom fields, and a much faster editing-language switch. Four new server-side conversion integrations also landed this month.

Visual Builder

  • Birth Date: New checkout and MyAccount birth date elements, with matching conditions that test whether the birth date is set. Useful for age-gated products and birthday campaigns.
  • Checkout: Express checkout stores shipping method dates only when a checkout shipping method element on the page is configured to store them, so the stored dates match what your page actually collects.
  • Checkout Custom Field: Radio and select inputs are now supported, with options supplied from a definition list.
  • Item List Form: Add to cart buttons and item variations now scope to their own form and buy box, so several buy boxes on one page stay independent of each other.
  • Item Toggle: Currency and language map support.
  • Web Chat: A maximize option with a responsive layout, and the chat now renders catalog page search results returned by the AI agent.

Visual Builder: Editor Language Switching

Changing the editing language now translates the whole page in one pass, so the full page comes back in the new language without repeated refreshes.

  • Descendant widgets: Nested widgets re-render in the new language on the first switch.
  • Progress feedback: The editor shows progress while a translation is underway, and elements re-render once it completes.
  • Sidebar state: The sidebar highlight and the ISO code under the globe icon update as soon as the switch is saved.

Internationalization

  • Auto detect: A new StoreFront option to auto detect currency and language, so visitors land in the right context without picking it themselves.
  • Checkout: The gift wrap title and the gift certificate remove confirmation are now translated.
  • Shipping methods: Display name and comment are now translatable, both on the StoreFront and through the Cart REST API.

Conversion & Tracking

  • Axon and Criteo: New server-side conversion integrations, so your conversion data reaches both platforms without depending on the browser.
  • Nextdoor: A new Conversion API (CAPI) server-side integration.
  • Google Tag Gateway: New StoreFront configuration for routing your tags through the gateway.
  • Attentive: Per-storefront configuration for the private key and the add-to-cart, product-view, and transactional source ids, each falling back to your merchant-wide Marketing settings when it is left blank. Non-numeric source ids are discarded on save rather than overriding the merchant-wide value.
  • Converge: Hook functions were standardized, and returning false now suppresses the event. A new custom event excludes free promotional items, and purchase events carry more information so they de-duplicate against the server-side call.
  • Pinterest: Expanded event coverage.
  • Twitter/X: Updated to the X API endpoints.

Order Management

  • Back end order entry: Item search results now include the currency code, so you can tell at a glance which price you are looking at when placing an order by hand.

Item Management

Item reviews got a bulk import path this month, which matters if you are migrating reviews in from another platform.

  • Review spreadsheet upload: A new upload in Item Tools with column validation on the upload screen, a background import that detects duplicates, and review media ingest so images attached to reviews come along too.
  • Sample CSV: A sample file containing every supported column is linked on the upload screen, so you can start from a known-good format.
  • Review sharing: Sharing now resolves the share item id after trimming whitespace, so an id pasted with a leading space applies correctly.

Communications & Marketing

The big addition is dispatch logs: every email your communications send now leaves a record you can search, follow, and export.

  • Dispatch logs: Every email now records a dispatch log, available from the menu with a per-step activity feed, a customer journey view, an event detail dialog, and CSV export. When someone asks whether an email went out, you can answer from the record instead of guessing.
  • Cart step: The cart step can generate a unique coupon, with an optional expiration in days that defaults to 90.
  • Wait steps: "Wait until date" now honors bare date and time values, so a step configured that way waits for the date you set.
  • Email open tracking: A new setting to ignore machine opens, which keeps automated inbox scanning out of your open rates.
  • Global suppression: A customer requesting a password reset is removed from the global suppression list so the reset email is delivered.
  • Dashboard: Campaigns with zero revenue are now listed if they were sent within the time period, so your view of a period is complete.
  • Calendar: Clearer navigation controls.
  • Transactional emails: Fixed missing rendering when library content is unavailable, and fixed the code editor not re-initializing when switching between transactional emails.

CRM

July was a heavy month for the CRM: an embeddable SMS chat widget, a redesigned call record, tool call visibility for the AI agent, and full email list management on the customer profile.

SMS Chat

  • Embeddable SMS chat widget: A new widget lets an agent text a customer about their order from an UltraCart page without opening the full CRM app.
  • No empty threads: Opening an SMS thread no longer creates an empty conversation. The conversation is created when the agent sends the first message.
  • Thread resolution: Resolving an SMS conversation prefers the live Twilio thread over decommissioned Pinpoint records.
  • Local time estimate: When a conversation carries no timezone, the customer's local time is estimated from the phone number's area code and clearly marked as an estimate, so agents know not to call at 3am.

AI Chat

  • Storefront page search: The AI agent can search storefront pages and display the results as cards in the conversation view, the page-level equivalent of item search results.
  • Tool call visibility: Tool calls made by the AI agent now render in the agent-facing conversation view with the tool name, a success or failure badge, duration, and collapsible input and output, so your team can see exactly what the agent did.

Call History and Call Notes

  • Call record detail: Redesigned into a two-column layout with a summary rail. Agents appear as compact cards next to a vertical timeline and condensed financial rows.
  • Zoho Desk ticket link: The ticket link now sits at the top right of the call record, so it appears whenever a ticket is linked instead of only when the call has an AI summary.
  • Call notes card: Notes moved out of the softphone into their own card in the in-call context panel, which reclaims the full width once the AI coach is dismissed. The card appears only after a call is answered, not while it is ringing or dialing.
  • Wrap Up status: Agent status stays on "Wrap Up" for the full after-call work countdown.
  • Open Tickets list: Capped at about three rows with in-place scrolling, so a long list no longer pushes Auto Orders and Orders down the page.

Customers

  • Email list management: Full list management on the Memberships page. Add lists through a searchable picker that shows member count and creation date, remove a single list, or remove all behind a confirmation. Changes apply immediately and the agent stays on the profile.
  • Lists and Segments: Now separate sections, with segments marked read-only because their membership is calculated.
  • Loyalty: Loyalty tier and its expiration are shown in the page header on the Loyalty page.
  • Tags in search results: Capped at three per row with a "+N more" chip that expands the row.
  • Customer profile search: Improved search behind the CRM customer lookup.
  • Birth date: Birth date was added to the customer profile.
  • QuickBooks Online: A QuickBooks Online customer id can be linked to a customer profile.

Conversations and Workforce Management

  • Duplicate agents: An agent who joined from more than one channel no longer appears twice in archived conversation lists and headers.
  • Force offline: Supervisors can force an agent offline from the agents list and the dashboard.

BigQuery & Data Warehouse

  • Conversation table: Now exposes the agent and system prompts, so you can analyze how your AI agents are being instructed.
  • Order streaming: Extended to ten years of history, which means changes to orders that are 6 to 10 years old now update faster in your warehouse.
  • Smart attribution: Smart attribution records are streamed to BigQuery.

Reporting & Analytics

Smart Attribution

Smart Attribution is a new attribution engine that groups a customer's touchpoints into per-order journeys, called bundles, for more accurate multi-touch attribution. Instead of treating every touchpoint as one long stream, it works out which order each touchpoint belongs to.

  • Bundles: Touchpoints are split at order boundaries. Ordinary post-receipt activity such as pageviews, identify hits, and list subscribes folds back into the closing order, while UTM and session activity still forces a split so the next order gets its own lookback.
  • Exclusions: Free orders and transactional emails are suppressed from attribution, and channel partners are skipped, so credit lands where the real marketing work happened.
  • Lookback window: Configurable, defaulting to 7 days.
  • Integration logs: Detailed output for troubleshooting, with parameter redaction.
  • Reporting: Attribution records are streamed to BigQuery.
  • Rollout: Smart Attribution currently reports into BigQuery only.

AI Report Builder

  • ARRAY parameters: ARRAY parameter types are now supported, so reports can take a list of values as a single parameter.

REST API & Webhooks

Five API areas expanded this month, with the largest addition being the dispatch log endpoints behind the new StoreFront Communications logging.

  • Affiliate: A new welcome email endpoint, plus a send_welcome_email flag on insert. Welcome letters are throttled to one per 24 hours.
  • Cart: Shipping method display name and comment are returned with i18n support.
  • Customer: A new method to search QuickBooks Online customers.
  • Order: Order query can search transaction detail when the target is the cache.
  • StoreFront: New dispatch log endpoints covering the per-step activity feed, customer journey, record detail, and email to customer lookup. All are paginated and scoped to your account. The machine open ignore setting for communications is now exposed as well.

Configuration

Taxes

  • Anrok: A new selectable third-party tax provider, with an item editor field, product id validation, and support in item export and import.
  • Colorado Retail Delivery Fee: Increased to 31 cents.
  • Region names: Relaxed to 32 characters, and three-letter EU codes are accepted.
